Curves Boudoir Update – New Boudoir Blog!

I’m so excited to be featured in the June 2010 issue of Tidewater Parent magazine. They are  featuring Curves Boudoir Photography as part of their Father’s Day gift recommendations. I’m honored that they asked me to feature the Curves Boudoir sessions and they DO make great Father’s Day, anniversary, and anytime gifts! Tidewater Parent is an excellent and free resource for parenting and child-related news in Hampton Roads.

You may have noticed that this blog has been a little quiet – I’ve been working hard but not posting as much as I’d like! Good news for those of you blog and boudoir fans – there’s now a blog dedicated to the Curves Boudoir Photography side of my photography business. I am so excited to launch it – more freedom to post sessions without worry about mixing them among my other portrait and wedding blog posts. Please check out the Curves Boudoir blog – you can RSS it and even subscribe to it by email so you don’t miss a thing. I know that even with all my Google Reader blogs, I still love to subscribe to my favorite blogs!

Have You Noticed? Boudoir is EVERYwhere!

Side note: So I do think it’s a little funny that my boudoir notes and first communion session are intermingled on the site near one another. But I’m just learning to accept that since I photograph so many things, there are many things that are on this blog. And I’m hopeful my clients don’t mind. :)

Did you know that Curves Boudoir now has its own Facebook fan page? It does! I would love for you to fan it – I hope to do more than just highlight some of my amazing clients but also to talk more about the history of boudoir photography. There’s more to it than you might think. And of course as our moms could tell us, it’s not anything new, either.

Curves Boudoir: Legs

Couple from a recent session. Legs! I know I’ve been posting lots of boudoir photos lately. I will be posting more portrait sessions and weddings soon as it is high portrait and wedding season! But I’ve also had the pleasure of photographing some amazing boudoir sessions, so I will continue to highlight those here as well. Are you a fan of the business on Facebook? There’s the Amy Sandoval Photography fan page and the Curves Boudoir fan page. You can “like” them to keep up with news there. Thank you as always to you faithful readers!

Boudoir Post Peek: Bring on the boots!

I’m always so grateful when clients let me share some of their Curves boudoir session photos. Thank you to this beautiful client!

Here’s another example of making a Curves boudoir session your own – she brought a pair of boots and a nice outfit like she might dress in for work….and then we did a little unbuttoning! She has without a doubt some of the most gorgeous eyes I’ve seen. And I also love the charming little curl of gray in her hair. She reminds me that real beauty is truly beautiful.

A reminder that I am currently booking a boudoir marathon for the very same location you see photographed here on Saturday, June 12. This location gets beautiful natural light, has a to-die-for white couch and so much to offer. It provides a beautiful background for sessions. Check out the Curves Boudoir site at http://www.curvesboudoir.com for all the details and pricing and email me at amy@amysandovalphotography.com if you’d like to book a session for that day. Sessions include professionally styled makeup and hair (yes, hair, too, and she’s truly talented with both!) and a one-hour shoot with up to 3 outfit changes.

Boudoir Ideas: Making the most of accessories

First, a thank you to this client for giving me permission to share some of her photos with you. She will be giving her soon-to-be husband an album of photos from her session for his wedding present. He is going to faint!

Second, if you’re interested in a session, I am now booking for a boudoir marathon on Saturday, June 12. I’ve booked one of my favorite locations for the date! I truly only have a few spots left, so don’t wait too long if you’d like to book a session. All the details including pricing and a detailed FAQ are available on the Curves Boudoir site at http://www.curvesboudoir.com

I love this session for how the client really put together her outfit choices. Her beautiful necklace was a statement all to itself, but also worked beautifully with one of his favorite shirts. She also changed into the gorgeous set she’ll wear on her honeymoon as well as the garter for the wedding. What a great way to pull in the sentimental elements of the wedding into her session.

The other thing I love is how beautiful her hair is from all angles. And she was able to easily take her hair down for the last few photos to make them even more naturally sensual. I typically shy away from showing many photos with more skin, but in this case I’m glad I can share them so you can see how “implied nude” can be so tastefully done. What I love about shooting boudoir is that it doesn’t have to be over the top dramatic to be sexy and eye-popping. Well-placed hands and legs can make a photo very hawttt!
