A Schedule Update: Here Comes the Busy Season!

An update on my schedule as the busy season approaches.

The really busy season in Hampton Roads tends to be September through November as families gear up for holiday cards and colorful fall weddings abound.

September/October
I am booked pretty much solid for September and October. It’s always possible that I will have an opening should I have a cancellation or re-schedule, so I encourage those who are interested to email me or call. I hate saying no to session opportunities, so I will work to fit in those that I can.

November
November is the last month of 2008 that I will schedule portrait sessions. I currently have two one slot left for November. November 9 is the last session date that will offer guaranteed holiday delivery of prints and goodies.

December
I will not be taking portrait sessions in December. Since babies arrive 12-months of the year(!), please call me if you need a newborn session during the month of December.

Booking for 2009!
Hard to think about 2009, but I’m in full swing to book sessions and weddings for 2009. Contact me if you’d like to talk about a 2009 wedding or portrait session. January through March are definitely colder months, but portait sessions can be taken indoors. It’s a great time of year to do sessions with younger children, babies and of course, the sweet newborns.

Holiday Cards
All portrait and wedding clients from this year may order custom holiday cards anytime from now through November 9 that include any photos from their session. I have some great custom cards – and some new designs available this year. I offer 5×7 photo cards and very cool press-printed cards with 2 to 6 sides. If you’re interested in holiday cards, contact me and we’ll design something unique to your family.

Hi Amy,

I like your new format and I’m sure your clients will, too!

Thanks so much Kristen! Really enjoyed your family reading blog, too! I just read “Four Wives” this summer and it’s fantastic!

Welcome to the New Photography Blog

This is the debut of the new Amy Sandoval Photography Blog. I’m thrilled to “launch” this new blog because it gives me the opportunity to share much larger sneak peek photos with clients.

In honor of the launch, I also plan on updating more often – more updates for clients past, present and future! Check here for special opportunities, scheduling updates and fun new products for clients.

I’m also going to post occasional “quick tips” about photography in general – there’s nothing I like better than talking about photography, so why not “go public” with the dialogue! I’m happy to try and answer any questions that come in as well. Feel free to leave a comment with questions anytime!

the new site looks fantastic! way to go!

Sneak Peek: An Early Arrival

This brand new little guy came a few days early – maybe he heard me tell his mom that the first-timers usually show up a little late?! He was one of the most content clients I’ve had under the age of 14 days – and he made the session a breeze. Mom and Dad were game for just about anything and had some great ideas of their own.

It took a little convincing to get dad to remove his shirt – but check out the photo of dad and baby – totally worth it! I love to show the relationship of fathers and newborns, particularly the way a man becomes so gentle and careful the moment they become a dad. And mom looks radiant smiling down on her little boy, who cooperated by sleeping naked on the master bed without any surprises!

Congratulations to the new mom and dad – I am looking forward to sharing your completed online gallery with you soon!

Gosh, Julie – thank you so much for the great compliment!

Olivia does her part to support “Team Angel”

I bought Olivia a t-shirt to do a small part in supporting this sweet little boy and his family as they work towards his recovery. Olivia couldn’t wait to turn it into a fashion statement. This is on the way to the pool – so she’s decked out in the t-shirt, her bathing suit, a pink belt, pink flip flops, pink band-aid and of course, pink purse. That’s my girl!
