Baby’s First Year: The Five Month Session

You’ve seen this guy twice before – and the cuteness just keeps getting cuter! Typical baby’s first year plans are shot about every three months, but with mom and dad moving back to Canada in a couple more months, we’ve been shooting them about every two months.

For this session, we were able to get outside and really soak up the sun. And as is often the case, some of the best photos also came from the end of the session when everyone was winding down. Mom changed his clothes and the laughing commenced – then dad read a book with him and it was just adorable. Those simple, quiet moments of joy are some of my favorite to capture – especially with babies and children! Also take note of the absolutely crazy-cute Canadian Baby Legs!

Fabulous Source for Children’s Clothing

Parents will often ask for clothing suggestions for their sessions. I’ve been getting the Mini Boden catalog for a few months and finally took the plunge and ordered some clothes for my daughter this spring. I was looking for clothes that will work for school, weekend events and yes, a few mini sessions with her!

I love the look of their clothes – they are stylish without being overly grown-up. (So many children’s clothes today are just replications of the adult versions.) They’re colorful, made out of great, washable fabrics and wear well – all things that make me and my daughter happy. She’s six now and has definite opinions about what she will wear. And what she won’t wear.

And listen up, moms of boys… you often get the short end of the cute-clothing stick, but not here. Their boys clothes are also wonderfully creative and yet still masculine.

Here are a couple of great outfit suggestions right from their Web site – be sure to check out the others. The Boden Web site is here – you’ll need to click on girls or boys to get to the Mini Boden area. And study their sizing charts as they use European sizing – but it’s still easy to translate. (And can I just say that I had to avoid spending much time on the women’s tab- the grown-up clothes are beautiful and the purses/shoes…yum!):

More Peeks: Newborn Photography Session

A few more peeks from this week’s session with a precious 5-day-old. For newborn sessions, the younger the better! This little guy fought us a bit on going to sleep – but as is always the case, once he gave up the fight… he went into a baby coma.

The last two are the same image in color and in black/white. I often have a very hard time deciding which I like – and clients usually get both choices so they can decide for themselves.

Claire and Michael’s Sandbridge Beach Wedding: The Slideshow

I’ve posted a few sneak peeks from Claire and Michael’s Sandbridge wedding a couple of weeks ago and am now ready to unveil their slideshow. While I can’t share all the photos they’ll receive in their final gallery – it would take a long, long time! – this is a collection to tell the story of their day. Hope you enjoy – it was a true joy to be part of this event!

(Slideshow hint: If you are watching for the second (or third, etc.!) time – you can click on the images and they will load as you click them.)

Beautiful! Since I couldn’t be there (I was sick), these pictures really made me feel like I was a part of the wedding.

Thanks,

Lon Taulbee (Michael’s Dad)

Congratulations. Those pictures are amazing.. and show how genuinely happy the two of you are together. The dancing shots reflect your personalities and put a smile on my face from miles away in cold MN. Thanks for sharing. Kristin Pagel
