Bay Creek/Eastern Shore Wedding Peek 2!

I posted a few sneak peek photos from Mary Beth and Will’s Eastern Shore wedding a few weeks ago and now I’m back for a few more. They were married in Hungars Episcopal Church - which has stood on its grounds in Northampton County since 1623. This building is the third church building on the grounds – thought to date back to 1742. It is a solid brick church on the outside and a brightly lit, beautufully maintained building on the inside. Sometimes when we photographers hear “historical building” what we really hear is “bring your flash gear, and lots of it.” But this church was a photographer’s dream.

So this sneak peek includes a few photos from their ceremony and then some fun photos from the reception site at Bay Creek – inside the Aqua Restaurant. There’s a small strip of water just behind the restaurant and we literally hiked down the rocks to get the beautiful view in the wedding party photos. Check out how much fun Mary Beth was having as the groomsmen escorted her down the steep slope to the beach. And then notice that while Mary Beth and the bridesmaids smile pleasantly and dutifully, Will’s got on his “RockStar” face!

And finally, had to share one that jumped out at me as I was working on these – Mary Beth’s laughter in the second to last image is infectious and I smile each time I see it. And the rings – of course I’m a huge fan of capturing those beautiful, shiny and always photographic rings – and theirs do not disappoint.

The Stars & Stripes Wedding

There once was a girl who always wanted to get married on July 4. And that girl met a boy whose grandparents were married on July 4. And so, when the time came, that boy and that girl married one another on July 4, 2009, in an intimate ceremony on the beach at Dam Neck Naval Base.

Nikki and Tom’s ceremony included all the key ingredients: beauty, meaning and fun. Nikki’s dress was gorgeous and the men rolled up their pants and got comfortable! I particularly appreciate the way they included Tom’s son by giving him a special gift during the ceremony – shown in the photos below. And yes, Tom even got a small “goose” of Nikki’s tush in while we captured a few photos of the two of them alone together on the beach. I love it when the bride and groom’s personality shows up on “film.”

We were preparing to walk over the dune and head back around sunset and that’s when we spotted a visitor, also seen below. This little guy was not even slightly irritated by our presence. He even stood calmly while I took his photo. One of Nikki’s family members whispered to me that it was a relative who had passed away in recent years who had come to watch over the ceremony and marriage. Married on a special day and celebrated with a special visitor. Two very meaningful ways to begin their lives together. Congratulations to you both!

Watch the slideshow to see more Curves boudoir sample images!

Curves Boudoir sessions are relaxed, fun and feminine. The focus is on turning your best features into art – and not on having the perfect body. These sessions are sexy but not Playboy – sensual is not always what’s seen but sometimes what’s hinted at! Whether you want a session for fun or to share as a gift to him, you will be glad you captured these memories.

Your comfort is the most important part of the Curves session. Clients are treated with the utmost respect. I want you to feel beautiful – prior to the session, we’ll go over your ideas and questions – and you’ll tell me a little about what you think are your best features.

Curves Boudoir sessions include my time with you, the hair/makeup artist’s time with you and my time artistically processing the photos to make them absolutely gorgeous. I take checks and Visa/MasterCard (you will need to call me to give me a credit card number).

Sessions include:
• Includes 2 hours, 1 for hair/makeup and 1 for your session
• Includes hair/makeup done by professional hair/makeup artist
• Includes brag book with 24 4×6 images from your session
• Includes online gallery of all your final artistically retouched photos (color and black/white choices)
• Includes option to order additional prints and goodies directly from the printer and shipped to you (the ultimate in privacy – no taking your prints to that one hour photo lab where anyone can see them!)

Ready to Book a Session?
The next boudoir marathon will be Saturday, November 7, in Virginia Beach. To book a session, you will be asked to sign a brief contract and pay a deposit of $125 to book the session. The remaining balance is due no later than November 5. (I take credit cards and checks.)

Call me at 757.406.6036 or email me at amy@amysandovalphotography.com and I will work with you to book a session.

Online galleries will be ready no later than November 30 to be sure you have plenty of time to receive albums and gifts in time for Christmas – and in plenty of time for Valentine’s Day, too!

Sessions sell out very quickly and make great gifts for Christmas and beyond, so don’t wait!

Hi, I really like your boudoir photography. Keep up the good work. Natascha

Exxxxtremely Limited Availability Through the Rest of 2009!

Dear Clients and Potential Clients,

It isn’t often you’ll hear someone complain about having two jobs they really enjoy. I am lucky enough to be in that very situation. And both jobs have kept me on my toes this year. Photography is not so much a job as a creative passion. It’s what keeps me thinking outside the box and helps keep my creative juices flowing.

Most days I’m still secretly amazed and always honored that people are paying me to photograph their beautiful moments. And it always pains me to turn away clients when I’m booked up – it feels like an opportunity that I’m being forced to pass up. But… I am the keeper of my own destiny. And when I sit at the computer at 2:40 a.m. for a second night in a row – I know things have to change.

It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve made the decision to suspend booking portrait sessions or wedding coverage through the end of 2009. I have already been blessed to have filled the months between now and then to the capacity that I can realistically manage without pulling more all-nighters. :)

If things calm down in the fall, I may open up some availability, so if you’d like me to contact you about setting up a November session, let me know.  I am also happy to recommend some amazing photographers in this area – and I will be more than willing to share their contact information, so please email me if you would like additional leads.

And brides – I book weddings well in advance – so don’t be afraid to contact me about a 2010 wedding.

I have big hopes for 2010, too. I’m working towards having my own natural light studio by that time – and look forward to seeing how that allows me to improve even more. Growing artistically and technically are two of the biggest goals I have as a photographer – thank you for sticking with me through this journey!

Late-night Eastern Shore Wedding/Bay Creek Wedding Peek

It’s late! I should be in bed doing some mindless reading and gearing down. (Perhaps I will pick up “New Moon” in a few minutes. I’ve given in to the trend and am zipping through the “Twilight” series these days.) But first, let me share just three quick photos from the wedding I photographed last weekend on the Eastern Shore.

These photos just shouted at me as I was proofing the photos from Mary Beth and Will’s wedding – and so though there’s much more proofing to be done, I wanted to share them now. I may even get a few more before they’re back from their honeymoon! I will refrain for tonight from gushing about how incredibly nice the bride and groom were (and they were SO nice!) and how lovely the details were (especially the amazing church!), but there will be more to come in the coming days!
