Detail Friday on Wednesday: What we did on our summer vacation

Many of us will be shopping and visiting with family on Friday, so I wanted to move up Detail Friday to Wednesday this week!

I took a look back at our vacation this year and decided a slideshow was the best way to show you just how much we loved it. We went to Marco Island Florida and stayed at the Marriott Resort – I highly recommend it. Particularly in a slow economy – there are deals to be had!  For us, it felt like a real tropical experience – white sand beaches, beautiful blue water and a resort that had two pools and lots of sightseeing opportunities. I also loved listening to the global languages and accents all around us as we sat by the pool – people visited from all over the world.

So here’s a little slideshow detailing our summer vacation as we quickly move into the final month of the year. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends and fun. We are incredibly thankful for what this year has brought – and I am particularly grateful to have met so many wonderful people through photography this year.

Loved the slideshow. I visited Marco Island several years ago and it brought back a lot of memories. I especially liked the shot of the mermaid. Stunning!

Detail Friday: Fall Turned Holiday Inspiration

I’m so ready to put up our Christmas tree. I’ve been forcing myself to buckle down this week and get the real work done so I can start decorating this weekend. Someone told me recently that their goal was to have a Christmas tree in every room – that is also my goal! This year we’ll have two full size Christmas trees for the first time – and then lots of table-top trees. The sooner I can get started working on them the more we can enjoy them.

So enjoy the fall-turned-holiday inspiration for this week’s Detail Friday. And if you’d like, you can download it to make it your screensaver – directions are below the photo!

Amy, thank you for the download! I lost all my pictures on my phone and I was not liking the plain blue background I was stuck with. I downloaded your image and I LOVE it!!! It is beautiful and perfect for the holidays! Thank you!

Hi,

I loved the photo and have set it as a background on my computer. It looks amazing on the full screen with so many colours.

A Quick One!

Still have photos to share from Leya and Brock’s October wedding. Love, love this one of them casually strolling back to the car together. It is devotion when the groom so carefully assists with the bride’s dress. And I also love the beautiful fall colors surrounding them. I am a sucker for fall!

Sneak Peek: Sleepy, precious girl

Last weekend I photographed an absolutely beautiful three-week-old girl who surprised me by sleeping soundly through many poses, changes and moves. Most of the newborns I photograph don’t sleep as well as she did! And as a result, we got some really adorable photos. I’ve included lots here and this was after narrowing down the sneak peeks! Dad has not met his sweet girl yet as he is serving overseas in the military, so this was a very special session knowing that these will be particularly meaningful for him when he see them online. Without further ado, here’s sweet Rosalie.
