Curves Boudoir: February & March 2011 Sessions Now Available in Hampton Roads

Cross-posting a bit from the Curves Boudoir blog to remind folks here that there’s a whole ‘nother side to my business! I love that my boudoir clients tell me over and over again that they chose me because they loved my photos AND they trusted me. That’s a big part of the boudoir experience. After all, most of us do not strip down to our underwear for photos on a daily basis.

A few photos are included to give you an idea of what goes on. It’s tasteful and sexy combined with fashion-magazine inspired processing and of course that amazing lighting that I adore. Put it together and you’ve got a beautiful you. And lest you wonder – my clients come from all walks of life – all ages and all stages. Many clients are moms and I’ve photographed firefighters, doctors, lawyers and a lot of women serving in the military, too. :) As always, if you’re unsure or have questions, you can always email me for more details. And more details about the next session dates are below.

I’m hearing from lots of spring brides who are planning weddings and thinking about boudoir – go for it! You’re working hard to fit into that gorgeous dress, go ahead and make good use of it and schedule your boudoir session so you can give him the gift of YOU for that big wedding day!

Also hearing from lots of military girlfriends/spouses who are scheduling sessions so they can give him a little something to keep him warm at night while deployed!

Here are the details of sessions coming up and a few more photos. Stay tuned for new sneak peeks coming soon from the wonderful clients I worked with last weekend. We were at a new, perfect location that I look forward to using a lot more this year. (Perfect location to me? Amazing light, modern tasteful furnishings that put the focus on you!)

Here are the new Curves Boudoir marathon dates:

  • Saturday, February 26
  • Sunday, March 13

As always, sessions include an hour for hair/makeup by Krystal – fabulous hair stylist and makeup artist who works with all of my boudoir clients. Sessions also include an hour-long shoot. Packages range from $425 to $650 and calendars and press-printed books are available. Get all the details on available packages on the Curves Boudoir website!

To book a session, please email me at amy@amysandovalphotography.com with the desired date you’d like as well as the package type you’d like. We’ll take it from there. These sessions will be held at a luxury hotel in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Here’s to kicking cancer in the ass. And looking hot while doing it.

Meet Samantha. She’s gorgeous. She is full of life and loves to dance. She’s active duty military. She adores her boyfriend (sorry, boys!). And she also happens to be a 22-year-old who just finished chemo and radiation treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Yes, you read that right. I’m so glad she’s given me permission to share her story. I hope this motivates you if you’re feeling down about yourself or battling your own health issues.

I love Samantha’s attitude. She refuses to let the cancer diagnosis define her. And she rocked her boudoir session – with two of the best wigs I’ve ever seen and total spunk and spirit. She even went dancing that night! I know she doesn’t do this to be an inspiration – she does this because it’s who she is. But it definitely gives the rest of us some perspective. Thank you, Samantha, for not letting cancer define you or what you do. For believing in yourself and your beauty, inside and out. And for your strength. I have no doubt you will continue to kick cancer in the ass. And look good doing it!

Here are some of the first photos we took during her session – we did a few portrait-style photos before jumping into her boudoir session. The b-session photos will be featured on the Curves Boudoir blog in the coming days.

As a friend of my wife’s Martin seems to be a very positive young woman. I don’t know her very well but she is a friend on my facebook… I sort of watched her battle with cancer. She is a very strong woman! Looks good Martin!

Curves Boudoir Update – New Boudoir Blog!

I’m so excited to be featured in the June 2010 issue of Tidewater Parent magazine. They are  featuring Curves Boudoir Photography as part of their Father’s Day gift recommendations. I’m honored that they asked me to feature the Curves Boudoir sessions and they DO make great Father’s Day, anniversary, and anytime gifts! Tidewater Parent is an excellent and free resource for parenting and child-related news in Hampton Roads.

You may have noticed that this blog has been a little quiet – I’ve been working hard but not posting as much as I’d like! Good news for those of you blog and boudoir fans – there’s now a blog dedicated to the Curves Boudoir Photography side of my photography business. I am so excited to launch it – more freedom to post sessions without worry about mixing them among my other portrait and wedding blog posts. Please check out the Curves Boudoir blog – you can RSS it and even subscribe to it by email so you don’t miss a thing. I know that even with all my Google Reader blogs, I still love to subscribe to my favorite blogs!

Have You Noticed? Boudoir is EVERYwhere!

Side note: So I do think it’s a little funny that my boudoir notes and first communion session are intermingled on the site near one another. But I’m just learning to accept that since I photograph so many things, there are many things that are on this blog. And I’m hopeful my clients don’t mind. :)

Did you know that Curves Boudoir now has its own Facebook fan page? It does! I would love for you to fan it – I hope to do more than just highlight some of my amazing clients but also to talk more about the history of boudoir photography. There’s more to it than you might think. And of course as our moms could tell us, it’s not anything new, either.
