Hampton Roads Commercial Photographer: The Girl Scouts Samoa Soiree

Last night I had the very fun task of photographing the Girl Scout’s Samoa Soiree event in Virginia Beach on behalf of event sponsor Old Point Bank. The event brings together top chefs from all over the Hampton Roads area and they use Girl Scout Cookies as key ingredients in unique dessert and appetizer recipes. Guests sampled each of the creations and voted on their favorite. Entries were also judged by a VIP panel of judges including Old Point Trust and Financial Services President Mr. Gene Jordan.

Commercial Shoot for First for Women Magazine

Back in December, I got a call from First for Women magazine about doing a commercial photo shoot in Virginia Beach for their February 2011 magazine. The entire experience was a blessing – from meeting an inspiring client and getting to work for a national magazine to working with one of the best stylists/makeup artists in Hampton Roads. Lisa Powell lives in Virginia Beach and is featured in the magazine for losing 94 pounds with hard work and a new lifestyle.

We photographed her session in and around the home of Kim Wadsworth, who graciously offered the location since we had a quick turn-around time on getting the photos in the can, so to speak. Kim styled the photography session and Lisa fell so in love with the clothing choices Kim provided that she was intent on heading to the store and buying several of the items! And if you don’t already know, Kim is also a fantastic professional makeup artist and did Lisa’s makeup that day, as well. Big thank yous also to Anthony Taflambas, hairstylist and Brittany Jerome, photography assistant.

These look so fantastic! I think my favorite is actually the very first one by the stairs. The purple really pops with the warm tones of the picture!

Beautiful portraits of a beautiful woman! Kim is Amazing! Having her as a stylist and you as a photographer should have been motivation enough to get fit!
